Surprise Valley Wrestling

Surprise Valley Wrestling was established in 2022 with the mission of reviving the sport of wrestling in the valley. The last organized wrestling program in the area dates back to 1970, leaving a significant gap in local opportunities for young athletes to engage in competitive wrestling. By reintroducing this program, Surprise Valley Wrestling aims not only to foster talent and skills among participants but also to build a strong sense of teamwork and community pride. The initiative provides a platform for both newcomers and experienced wrestlers to thrive, ensuring that the legacy of wrestling continues to be a vibrant part of the valley's culture. Through dedicated training and competitions, Surprise Valley Wrestling is determined to inspire the next generation of wrestlers and keep the spirit of the sport alive in the valley.

Art Programs

Growing Modoc collaborates with local artists to offer enriching art classes in the valley. With the guidance of our talented in-house instructor, Kermit McCourt, who has been creating large-scale abstract paintings for over two decades, students of all backgrounds can explore their creative potentials. Kermit embodies the belief that everyone has an artist within, and his classes are designed to help individuals tap into their innate passion for art. The 610

The 610, constructed in 1940, stands as a remarkable structure with its impressive 10-foot tall concrete walls. Originally designed as a heavy machine recovery shop, this versatile building has served various purposes over the years. It later transitioned into a mechanic shop and then became a cabinet shop, showcasing its adaptability to different industrial needs. Today, the 610 has been transformed into a multi-purpose event venue, where its rich history and sturdy architecture provide a unique backdrop for gatherings, celebrations, and community events. The evolution of this space reflects the changing needs of the community, making it a vital part of the area's heritage and a hub for connection and creativity.

Our facility features a stage equipped for live performances, as well as a recording studio and podcast room, allowing students to showcase their creativity. Students have the exciting opportunity to either perform live or record and share their original work, fostering a sense of community and collaboration among aspiring musicians.

610 Rock Gym

The 610 Rock Gym is a vibrant space designed to inspire both beginners and seasoned climbers alike. Nestled in the heart of Modoc, this small-scale rock gym features a 30-foot traversing wall standing 10 feet tall, perfect for those looking to practice their technique. Additionally, our campus wall and rope climbing area provide diverse challenges for all skill levels.
